I arrived at this sketch idea after a good deal
of research into Kathryn’s life: how she married
an Italian and thoroughly acclimatised to her new cultural
ambiance. My solution for her memorial tablet was inspired
by a combination of the letterforms of the Italian Futurists
and restrained English italics.
