A large formal headstone in silk-finished
slate; the lettering quite severe and compressed, but
gently softened at the corners so that it’s both
disciplined and feminine. The surrounding bead-moulding
also adds to that mix of roundness and formality. I
was particularly pleased with the central but asymetrical
doves. They are caught at the point of their “liberation”:
down-gazing but up-flying.
